WhatsApp now allows you to set a custom wallpaper for each chat

WhatsApp, the world’s most popular instant messaging app, announced two new features for a better user experience. With the new features, users will be able to avoid the “misfortune” of sending messages to the wrong chat by setting a custom wallpaper for each chat and will be able to search a sticker with emoji or text, or browsing through categories.

As you know, we were able to set a single wallpaper that is valid for all chats in WhatsApp until now. Starting this week, we will optionally be able to set separate wallpapers for all chats. In this way, we will be able to distinguish more easily in which chat window we are in, and avoid the trouble of sending a message to the wrong chat.

WhatsApp noted that there is no limit on the number of custom wallpapers a user could set to assign to different chats.

“Make your chats personal and distinguishable by using a custom wallpaper for your most important chats and favorite people, and you never need worry about sending the wrong message in the wrong chat ever again,” WhatsApp said.

WhatsApp is also improving its default doodle wallpapers by adding new colors to both bright and dark albums. Users will now be able to set a different wallpaper that will be activated when their phone switches from light to dark mode.

WhatsApp has also invited sticker creators to tag their stickers with emojis and text to make the stickers easier to use. In this way, users will be able to search and find a sticker in their library with text or emoji, or category browsing.

The Facebook-owned company also introduced an animated version of its popular World Health Organization (WHO) “Together at Home” sticker pack.

The new features will be expected to start rolling out this week.
