Instagram moves Reels and Shopping tabs to Home Page

Instagram, which has come to the fore with the design innovations coming to the platform recently, brings the Reels and Shopping tabs to the Home Page. Reels will replace the Create button, which allows adding content, and the Shopping button will replace the Like button that displays the notifications.

The Shopping tab, located on the home page, includes content selected by the administrators of the Instagram @shop account, videos and products that direct shopping. In addition, the Shopping tab also includes personalized suggestions.

The Reels tab directs users to the Reels stream. TikTok’s replica, Reels, is one of the most important features Instagram has been rolling out in recent months. The company has even announced that it will begin testing shopping through Reels later this year.

“We first launched Reels a few months ago – and we’ve already seen amazing reels from creators, like roller skating with @esty, comedy from @cameronjhenderson, motivation from @paperboytheprince, and wheelchair choreography from dance team @rolletes_la. Now, we’re rolling out the Reels tab to be a kind of a stage, a place where people can share their creativity with the world and have a chance to break out and find an audience,” the company said in a statement.

In the new design, the Like and create tab is moved to the upper right corner and placed next to the Messenger logo. In this new design, it is noteworthy that IGTV is not among the Home Page buttons. Within the scope of design innovation, IGTV can only be accessed on the Discover page.
