Unity Revenue Statistics (2022)

For creating video games and simulations for computers, consoles, and mobile devices, Unity Technologies created a cross-platform game engine. In 2005, during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, it was initially revealed as being just for OS X, but it has subsequently been expanded to support 27 systems. Other sectors than video games have embraced and utilised the Unity game engine, including those in film, the car industry, architecture, engineering, and construction.

Unity Revenue Statistics

+ For the third quarter of 2022, Unity reported revenue of $322.9 million, an increase of 13% from the third quarter of 2021. Create Solutions revenue was $128.6 million, an increase of 54%; Operate Solutions revenue was $171.7 million, a decrease of 7%; Strategic Partnerships and Other revenue was $22.6 million, an increase of 28%, each as compared to the third quarter of 2021.

+ For the third quarter of 2022, loss from operations was $239.6 million, or 74% of revenue, compared to loss from operations of $126.8 million, or 44% of revenue, in the third quarter of 2021.(Unity)

+ 1,075 Unity customers each generated more than $100,000 of revenue in the trailing 12 months as of September 30, 2022, compared to 973 as of September 30, 2021.

+ For the full year 2021, Unity revenue was $1.1 billion, up 44% year-over-year.

+ On November 7, 2022, Unity completed the merger with Tel Aviv-based app business platform ironSource. The companies first announced their plans to join forces in July 2022. As stated in the announcement, ironSource is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Unity. Unity rejected a $17 billion unsolicited takeover bid from AppLovin in August 2022.
