Instagram announced that it has launched the feature of shopping in Reels all over the world. The company had first announced the feature back in October.

While brands such as MAC Cosmetics, Revolve, Song of Style by Aimee Song, Rare Beauty and NBA started using the shopping feature at Reels, Instagram’s @shop account shared the ‘shopping in Reels’ videos of small businesses and new brands like For the Ages, Centinelle, Kammok, Expedition Subsahara and Paper & Clay.

Instagram, which aims to make it easier for people to discover and buy something when they are inspired with its shopping features, wherever they are in the app, offers the opportunity to buy, save or learn more about the product by clicking on the products in a Reels video. The feature now allows businesses and creators to tag products when creating Reels.

Instagram had moved the Reels and Shopping tabs to the home page in recent months. Accordingly, the Create button was replaced by the Reels button, and the Shopping button was replaced by the like button. In October, Instagram announced that it added a shopping feature to IGTV.

Instagram has transformed from a simple photo sharing ap to an app focused on content and shopping. Because Instagram is now beyond a social network application, it shapes the concept of social commerce from start to finish with its influencer collaborations and shopping features.
