Popular short-video app TikTok has introduced its new service named ‘’Showtimes on TikTok’’, which will connect its users directly with movie ticketing partners so that they can easily buy a ticket for a show they discover on the platform.
Using the new tool, studios will be able to promote their movies with a trailer after which TikTok will display showtimes and theatre info based on their location. Once they select their seats, they will be able to complete their purchases with ticketing partners including AMC, Atom Tickets, Fandango, MovieTickets.com and Regal.
The ByteDance-owned company said that 52% of its users first find out about a new show or an actor on its platform, and 25% of those who saw an entertainment ad went on to buy movie tickets after. The new tool will make the process even quicker and simpler as it won’t require them to leave the app.

The company unveiled the Showtimes on TikTok service at the TikTok World 2022 event, where it also announced new updates to TikTok Creator Marketplace, which will now offer a better search experience, a recommendation service and more, so that marketers can easily discover creators that are suitable for their brands. In addition, creators will now be able to add App Store or Play Store links to their videos when they collaborate with mobile gaming companies.
Furthermore, TikTok also announced that it has partnered with link in bio company Linktree for its new feature named ‘’Profile Kit’’, which will allow users to show up to 6 TikTok videos on other websites.
