MONOPOLY GO! surpasses $1B in annual revenue

Scopely, the mobile game developer has proudly announced that MONOPOLY GO! has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by surpassing $1 billion in annual revenue. The reimagined mobile version of Hasbro’s classic board game has emerged as the standout mobile game launch of 2023, solidifying its status as a free-to-play sensation. 

This accomplishment is not only a significant triumph for Scopely but also reflects positively on its recent acquirer, Savvy Gaming Group, which acquired Scopely for $4.9 billion in April.

Its rapid ascent to the $1 billion revenue mark in such a short timeframe is a remarkable feat in the competitive mobile gaming industry. The game’s recent nomination for mobile game of the year further underscores its unparalleled success.

MONOPOLY GO! boasts impressive statistics, with over 100 million downloads and players globally crossing the iconic “go” space over 40 billion times. The game has seen nearly 2 billion boards in play and accumulated 6 billion visits to jail. The social aspect of the game is emphasized by 150 million friend invites, highlighting its cultural phenomenon status and the strong bonds formed among players.

The game’s success can be attributed to its ability to blend classic Monopoly gameplay with innovative features and new worlds, creating an engaging experience for players worldwide.
