Dubai introduces Gaming Visa to fuel creative industry growth

Dubai has rolled out its Gaming Visa initiative, a move aimed at fostering collaboration among content creators and providing employment and training opportunities in partnership with international firms and academic institutions. The UAE city plans to offer a long-term cultural visa to attract talented individuals, artists, and creators through its Creative and Talented Accreditation Certificate.

This groundbreaking initiative is a cornerstone of Dubai’s ambitious Program for Gaming 2033, which seeks to create 30,000 jobs, boost GDP by $1 billion, and position Dubai as a global leader in gaming revenue. The city aims to establish itself as an incubator for developers and attract leading technology companies specializing in digital content and experiences.

To obtain the Creative and Talented Accreditation Certificate, applicants must submit their applications through the official website and await email notifications regarding the status of their application. Once approved, the certificate will be issued to them. Applicants must be at least 25 years old and provide a copy of their passport, along with their professional CV. Only individual applications will be accepted.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, crown prince of Dubai and chairman of Dubai executive council, expressed the city’s vision, stating, “Through the launch of Dubai Program for Gaming 2033, our objective is to establish an incubating environment for developers and to draw leading technology companies from across the globe.” He emphasized the program’s commitment to supporting developers, designers, programmers, entrepreneurs, and startups in the creative industries.
