Similarweb acquires app intelligence company 42matters

Digital intelligence company Similarweb has recently announced its acquisition of 42matters, an app intelligence provider based in Zurich, Switzerland. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. 42matters will continue to operate as an independent entity under the name 42matters, a Similarweb company.

Similarweb said the acquisition represents a significant advancement in the company’s data capabilities, especially in the fast-evolving app analytics market, which is projected to reach $15.7 billion by 2028, with an impressive CAGR of 20.2%.

42matters is known for its extensive data across app store platforms, app engagement metrics, and mobile SDK data. The integration is expected to empower Similarweb to offer unparalleled insights into app performance, competitive analysis, and user engagement. App owners will benefit from a deeper understanding of their market position, enabling them to optimize distribution, refine marketing strategies, and enhance their development roadmaps.

“By incorporating 42matters’ unique data and expertise, we are strengthening our app intelligence offering and laying the foundations for further leadership and innovation in the digital intelligence market,” said Or Offer, CEO of Similarweb. He emphasized that the enriched data capabilities will allow businesses to make more informed, data-driven decisions and excel across digital platforms, including web, mobile, and app ecosystems.

With 42matters’ extensive app data, which spans 12 app store platforms, over 2.1 million publishers, 2,600+ SDKs, and more than 20 million apps, Similarweb can offer a more comprehensive suite of digital data services. This expansion presents new opportunities for customers to integrate Similarweb’s enriched digital data into their operational and growth strategies, the company said.

Andrea Girardello, CEO of 42matters, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “We are excited to join forces with Similarweb, a company that shares our vision for the future of app intelligence. Together, we will continue to innovate and provide unparalleled insights to our customers.” He highlighted that the combined strengths of 42matters’ unique datasets and Similarweb’s digital intelligence platform will enhance their ability to serve leading brands such as Comcast, Criteo, Ogury, and many others.
