Because of Coronavirus, Google Says Android App Reviews May Take Longer

Coronavirus has spread in at least 140 countries, continues to negatively affect daily life and the business world. One of the companies affected by this pandemic is Google. World-renowned search giant Google has warned Android developers that the Android app reviews may take 7 days or longer due to adjusted work schedules.

According to Statista, there are around 2.9 million apps on the Google Play Store, and according to AppInventiv, 3739 new apps are added to the platform every day. Google, on the other hand, reviews these applications before offering them to its users and checks whether they are suitable for Google Play Store. This process usually takes a few days.

However, due to adjusted work schedule in connection with the coronavirus, the company has now announced that application review times may take 7 days or even longer.

“Due to adjusted work schedules at this time, we are currently experiencing longer than usual review times. While the situation is currently evolving, app review times may fluctuate, and may take 7 days or longer.”

Many companies tell their employees to work from home due to coronavirus (COVID-19) and Google is one of them. So it is pretty normal for such a delay to occur.

The company already announced last year that this process would take 7 days or more in exceptional cases. We all know that coronavirus is exceptional.
