Apple Patents Social-Distancing Group Selfie Software

Apple patented a selfie software to help people keep their social distance while taking a group selfie with their loved ones.

Scientists continue to work hard to end the Coronavirus pandemic that has been going on for months. In many countries, new case and death statistics are falling down. But, in order to protect ourselves and those around us against a second wave, we have to wear our masks and maintain our social distance.

Google recently released an AR tool called Sodar which draws a 2-meter length virtual circle around users to help them maintain their social distancing.

And tech giant Apple patented a new software to enable people to take group selfies during social distancing.  According to Patently Apple, Apple users will be able to send invitations to their friends and take group selfies even if they are not together.

Allegedly, group selfies will include images, stored video images, and live streaming images. You will receive a notification when your friend sends you an invitation and the user who sends the invitation will be able to change the background of the photo and his/her location.

It is not yet known when the social distancing group selfie feature will be released. But I think this will be very useful.
