Reddit rolls out Reminder Ads globally to capture pre-launch engagement

Reddit has expanded its Reminder Ads format to global availability, introducing a new mechanism for advertisers to engage users ahead of events, product launches, and time-sensitive campaigns.

The ad format integrates a “Remind Me” call-to-action within standard image and video ads, allowing users to opt in for notifications tied to a specific event. Once activated, users receive two alerts—one 24 hours before the event and another at launch—along with an optional calendar addition and direct link to a landing page or ticket destination.

The rollout builds on earlier testing phases and now applies across eligible brand awareness and traffic campaigns. Reddit positions the format as a way to convert passive ad impressions into measurable signals of intent, as advertisers can track how many users actively request reminders.

The feature is designed to operate within Reddit’s community-driven environment, where users engage in topic-specific discussions across more than 100,000 active communities. According to the company, this context enables advertisers to reach users who are already researching or discussing relevant categories, such as gaming releases, entertainment premieres, or retail events.

Reddit reports over 450 million weekly active users and more than 121 million daily users, with a portion of its audience not overlapping with other major social platforms. This reach is being positioned as an opportunity for advertisers to access incremental audiences rather than duplicating existing campaigns elsewhere.

Early campaign data shared by Reddit indicates that Reminder Ads can drive higher engagement compared to standard formats. In one example, a campaign promoting live boxing events recorded a higher click-through rate and lower cost per reminder compared to benchmarks, suggesting increased efficiency when targeting interest-based communities.
