X launches two new subscription plans

Elon Musk’s social media venture, X (formerly Twitter), announced the rollout of two new subscription plans on Friday, as recently promised. One of these subscription tiers, Premium+, is designed for users seeking an ad-free experience on the platform.

The Premium+ subscription plan is available for a monthly fee of approximately $16. Subscribers to this tier will have access to all the tools and features provided by X, without the interruption of advertisements. This ad-free experience is expected to enhance user engagement and provide a more streamlined interaction with the platform. Initially, the Premium+ tier will be accessible to users who access X through a web browser.

For those users who prefer a more cost-effective subscription option, X offers a basic tier at a monthly rate of $3. However, it’s important to note that the basic tier does not provide an ad-free experience, and users in this tier will continue to encounter ads as part of their platform usage.

In addition to introducing these subscription plans, X is actively working on further enhancing its platform offerings. One notable development in the pipeline is the bundling of video and audio calling features for select users. By incorporating these communication features, X is positioning itself as an “everything app,” aiming to offer a comprehensive and diverse range of functionalities beyond traditional social media interactions.

As X continues to expand its subscription offerings and enhance its features, it remains a dynamic player in the ever-evolving landscape of social media platforms. Adding the Premium+ subscription option underscores X’s commitment to providing a more tailored and ad-free experience for its users while exploring new ways to drive revenue and growth.

Recently, X celebrated its first anniversary under Elon Musk’s ownership. Check out our deeper look at the platform’s journey so far.
