Telegram has updated its app with new features including Payments 2, scheduled voice chats, mini profiles for voice chats, new web apps and more.

The company first launched its Payments feature back in 2017 allowing users to make payments for services and goods without having to leave the app. With the new update, merchants will be able to accept credit card payments in any chats via 8 integrated third-party payment providers which are Stripe, Yandex.Money, Sberbank, Tranzzo, Payme, CLICK, LiqPay, ECOMMPAY.

Payments 2.0 will also enable users to support their favorite stores, delivery drivers, artists etc. with tips and users will be able to make payments from any app including desktop apps. In addition, the company won’t cut any commission fee and stores won’t be able to see your payment info.

The second feature the company has added is scheduled voice chats, which will allow group and channel admins to set a particular date and time for their Clubhouse-like voice chats.

There’ll be a countdown timer for the scheduled voice chats and users will be able to receive notifications when the chat begins.

With the new Telegram update, users will also be able to add profile pictures and bios so that others can get an idea of who they are talking to in voice chats.

If you’re an iOS user, you can update your app directly from the App Store. However, Android users are recommended to update the app here as Google told the company that they are “currently experiencing longer than usual review times due to adjusted work schedules”.
