Keywords Studios, a Dublin-based services provider for the video games industry, announced on Thursday that it has acquired award-winning social media agency Digital Media Management.

Founded by Luigi Picarazzi in 2010, Los Angeles-based DMM provides social media and influencer marketing solutions for video games and entertainment industries. Among its clients are major Hollywood studios, video games publishers, streaming platforms, and a range of public figures.

In addition to social media marketing, the agency also has experience in short format social/video assets, which Keywords Studios said will complement its expertise in longer, trailer format content.

Following the acquisition, Digital Media Management will operate as a part of Keywords’ Engage division, with its founder Luigi Picarazzi and chief operating officer Adam Reynolds remaining on board.

Keywords Studios CEO Bertrand Bodson said:“DMM brings KWS a top tier social marketing agency, world-class production location and capability, as well as a technology platform that can help scale its influencer offering. As entertainment and games further converge, and we continue to add leading marketing services to our group, we believe we will unlock significant opportunities to engage billions of gamers and content creators. We are excited to work together with the talented and energetic leadership and team at DMM.

Luigi Picarazzi, Founder of DMM, commented: “We share Keywords’ vision for where media and entertainment are going, and we believe joining up will multiply our forces. The combination of DMM’s market-leading digital and social media capabilities and Keywords’ deep expertise and global reach will amplify our collective abilities.

Keywords Studios has made various acquisitions in recent years to enhance its solutions and grow its business footprint, including conversational customer service platform Helpshift, video game developer Climax Studios, and video games creative marketing agency Maverick Media.
