Getir, a fast delivery company that started to serve in Istanbul in July 2015, set out to bring market products to its users in 10 minutes. Founded by Nazım Salur, Serkan Borançılı, and Tuncay Tütek, the instant delivery startup has expanded to several European countries and attracted many investors.

Getir is currently available in Turkey, the UK, Italy, France, Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands, Spain, and the U.S. The company operates in all 81 cities in Turkey and 48 cities in Europe and the USA.

Funding Rounds & Valuation

• In December 2022, Getir closed the acquisition of Gorillas in a $1.2 billion deal that values the combined group at $10 billion. According to the people familiar with the matter, the deal values Gorillas at roughly $1.2 billion, down from $3 billion in September of last year. Getir has also cut its own valuation by around a quarter. After Getir hit a $11.8 billion valuation when it raised $768 million in March, the new combined entity is valued at $10 billion, with Gorillas comprising 12 percent of the total. • In January 2021, Getir raised $128 million at an $850 million valuation in a funding round co-led by Michael Moritz’s Crankstart Investments and Brazil-based Base Partners.
• In March 2021, Getir secured $300 million in a funding round led by Sequoia Capital and Tiger Global, at a unicorn valuation of $2.6 billion. 
• In June 2021, Getir raised $555 million at a $7.56 billion valuation. Silver Lake, Mubadala Investment Company, and DisruptAD joined the funding round. 
• In March 2022, Getir raised a $768 million Series E funding round at a decacorn valuation of $11.8 billion. The funding round was led by Mubadala Investment Group, with Abu Dhabi Growth Fund (ADG), Alpha Wave Global, Sequoia Capital, and Tiger Global also participating. 
• (October 11, 2022): According to sources familiar with the matter, Getir is in advanced talks to acquire rival Gorillas Technologies GmbH.

• In 2021, Getir was the most popular food delivery app in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, with more than 23 million app downloads.
