Adidas Launches Virtually Try-On Feature For iOS Users

German sportswear giant Adidas has integrated its iOS app with Augmented Reality (AR) enabling users to try their new Alphaedge 4D running shoes without going to the store.

The German sportswear brand Adidas, which is working hard to find new ways to improve customer experience, has launched a new feature within its iOS mobile app, developed in partnership with Augmented Reality (AR) platform Vyking.

The new feature connects to Adidas’ new Alphaedge 4D running shoes and allows users to try on sneakers with AR technology. Users can visit the Alphaedge product page within the app and hold the smartphone to their feet, virtually wearing the Alphaedge 4D running shoes.

With Vyking’s AR technology, users can see their feet with or without shoes in real-time. Users who can see the shoe from every angle as if they are really wearing can experience the product directly without visiting a physical store.

“Viewing products in 3D is already known to increase conversions, and we’re anticipating a big increase in conversions through our footwear try-on technology… We’re also waiting on the data to prove that this technology is not just for Gen Z; it’s really useful for anyone of any age who buys shoes online.”

Vyking CEO – Matthew Klimpke
