Tiny acquires product engineering firm HappyFunCorp for $30M

Canadian technology holding company Tiny is acquiring HappyFunCorp, a New York-based product engineering firm that designs and builds mobile apps for many big names in the industry, in a $30 million cash-and-stock deal, as reported by TechCrunch.

Since its founding in 2009 by Ben Schippers, Holly Zappa ve Robb Chen-Ware, HappyFunCorp has built various consumer internet products for well-known clients including Apple, Amazon, Twitter, Disney and Samsung. The firm saw $12 million in revenue last year.

Tiny, on the other hand, has a company valuation of nearly $500 million, and was founded in 2018 by Andrew Wilkinson, who is also the founder of interface design firm MetaLab.

Since its inception, it has been ‘’partnering with founders to give them quick, straightforward exits that protect their team and culture and keep their businesses operating for the longterm’’, according to its website. Dribble, WeCommerce and Flow are among the company’s notable acquisitions.

While HappyFunCorp’s customer base could provide Tiny with a significant boost, the latest acquisition is also expected to help the Canadian company expand its product line and grow its footprint in the market.
