MONOPOLY GO! crosses $6bn in lifetime IAP revenue in under three years

Scopely’s mobile title MONOPOLY GO! surpassed $6 billion in lifetime in-app purchase (IAP) revenue in 2025, becoming the fastest mobile game to reach that threshold, according to estimates from Sensor Tower Intelligence. The game launched globally in April 2023 and reached the milestone in less than three years, outpacing all previous top-grossing mobile titles.

Sensor Tower data indicates that no other game has matched MONOPOLY GO!’s pace to $6 billion in IAP revenue. By comparison, long-running mobile leaders such as Honor of Kings, Candy Crush Saga, Clash of Clans, and Monster Strike took significantly longer to achieve similar revenue totals. The title is estimated to be generating around $200 million per month, pointing to continued monetization momentum beyond its initial launch window.

With this performance, MONOPOLY GO! now ranks 14th on the all-time global mobile games revenue leaderboard. It is the youngest title in the current top 15, with the next most recent entrant, Royal Match, launching in 2021. The ranking also places MONOPOLY GO! alongside Pokémon GO, another Scopely-published title that remains among the highest-grossing mobile games globally.

In annual terms, MONOPOLY GO! was the top-grossing mobile game by IAP revenue in 2024 and the leading casual game worldwide by revenue since its release. It has also become the highest-earning mobile title associated with the Monopoly intellectual property and the top-grossing tabletop-themed mobile game by 2025 IAP revenue. Beyond gaming, the title ranked among the top ten apps globally by IAP revenue, ahead of several major consumer subscription services.

Engagement metrics reported by Scopely point to sustained player activity. The company says roughly 70% of players return daily, with cumulative gameplay including nearly 200 billion passes around the board, more than 7 billion boards completed, and close to 30 billion in-game jail visits since launch. These figures reflect high repeat usage across the game’s global player base.

The game’s revenue growth has been supported by a combination of live operations, frequent in-game events, and social mechanics such as multiplayer features, gifting, and trading systems. The use of a globally recognized IP has also contributed to its broad demographic reach, while localization strategies tailored content and creative elements to different regions rather than relying solely on direct translation.

Sensor Tower’s estimates cover IAP revenue from Apple’s App Store and Google Play and do not include advertising, direct-to-consumer sales, or other revenue streams. Even with those exclusions, MONOPOLY GO!’s trajectory places it among the fastest-scaling and highest-grossing mobile games released to date, underscoring the increasing concentration of revenue at the top end of the mobile games market.
