Luxury fashion game Drest secures £15 million investment

London-based gaming company Drest, the maker of luxury fashion game that carries the same name, has secured £15 million directly from its co-founder and co-chair Graham Edwards as it prepares for the 2.0 version of its mobile title.

While the game has seen a 250% increase in its user count since its launch in 2019, the studio has raised £30 million and collaborated with more than 260 brands so far, including Gucci, Prada, Valentino, and Cartier.

The mobile game studio is planning to use the funds to support the development and rollout of the fashion game’s metaverse-enabled version, Drest 2.0, and its expansion into gaming, media, data, and eCommerce markets.

Meanwhile, Drest said that it is currently exploring web3 and lifestyle games, and getting ready to enter an 18-month research & development phase.

Commenting on the investment, Drest’s Chief Executive Officer Lisa Bridgett said: “We are thrilled to have secured investment to help us scale Drest, especially in such a tough market. This is testament to the strength of our product delivery and pipeline of ideas. We are now ready to take the business to the next level, and offer a new one-of-a-kind experience to our users while maintaining the core elements of the game. There is an undeniable interest in gaming from the luxury fashion and lifestyle industries and we are very well positioned to cater to this increasing demand. We very much look forward to the next chapter.
