Xsolla unveils Android ‘Buy Button’ letting developers bypass Google fees and keep 95% of sales

Android game developers in the United States will soon be able to retain a far greater share of their earnings, as Xsolla rolls out a new payment tool designed to bypass traditional app store fees.

Starting October 22, Xsolla’s new Buy Button for Android will allow developers to process in-game purchases through a direct, web-based checkout system — enabling them to keep up to 95% of their revenue, compared to the typical 70% cut after app store commissions.

The feature, available via a lightweight SDK integration, lets users make purchases from within a game that redirects to a compliant web payment flow. Xsolla said the system is built in accordance with recent U.S. regulatory shifts following rulings in Epic Games v. Google and Epic Games v. Apple, which have challenged the dominance of platform-controlled billing systems.

“This is a major moment for Android developers in the U.S.,” said Chris Hewish, President at Xsolla. “We’ve created a compliant, conversion-first solution that’s fast to launch, secure, and designed to put developers back in control of how they sell, scale, and engage their players.”

Xsolla’s Buy Button integrates with the company’s broader Web Shop and Pay Station tools, giving studios the ability to manage catalogs, run personalized promotions, segment audiences, and track revenue performance in real time. Developers can deploy the feature within 24 hours, the company said, with checkout supported by PCI DSS Level 1 compliance and one-tap payment options.

The new offering comes amid growing regulatory and industry pressure to open mobile ecosystems to alternative payment methods. In recent months, court rulings have forced both Apple and Google to allow developers to include links and external purchase options in their apps, reshaping how digital transactions are handled across mobile platforms.

By using Xsolla’s system, developers can reduce dependence on app stores while maintaining a direct relationship with their players — a model increasingly seen as critical in an environment of rising acquisition costs and stricter platform policies.
