Connatix and JW Player merge to form the largest video monetization platform

Video streaming and data analytics platform JW Player has revealed its merger with Connatix, a video delivery and monetization provider, to create a new entity called JWP Connatix.

The merger of JWP’s live and on-demand streaming services, data analytics, and workflow solutions with Connatix’s full-suite advertising and content technology is designed to establish JWP Connatix as the most complete independent video technology and monetization platform for broadcasters, publishers, and advertisers.

Founded in 2014, Connatix partners with over 350 publisher groups, spanning thousands of websites and collaborating with top brands and agencies. JWP, founded in 2008, serves over 2,000 global publishers, broadcasters, and video-driven brands. The company also powers video for over 1 billion users each month and 5 billion minutes of video watched.

“How and where viewers consume video is rapidly changing. As a result, media companies require innovative solutions that allow them to maximize audience engagement and help optimize revenue across disparate monetization models, whether it be advertising, subscriptions or commerce,” said David Kashak, Co-founder and CEO of Connatix. “Together, JWP Connatix fulfills that requirement, by accelerating our companies’ mutual visions to create environments where premium video viewing, powered by best-in-class technology, meets high-quality monetization experiences, enabling media leaders to deliver exceptional results.”

Under the terms of the merger, Dave Otten will take on the role of CEO for the newly formed JWP Connatix, while David Kashak will assume the position of Chairman. The company will be based in New York City, with satellite offices in key locations including London, Cluj-Napoca, Eindhoven, Skopje, and Tel Aviv.

“By joining forces, JWP Connatix ushers in a new era for digital video. The complementary nature of our businesses enables us to bring a unique combination of scale, product breadth, and industry expertise to the market,” added Dave Otten, CEO and Co-Founder of JWP. “Perhaps more importantly, we are bringing together two knowledgeable, and dedicated teams, whose skill-sets and values are a perfect match. We could not be more excited about this partnership and look forward to shaping the future of digital video together.”
