While ChatGPT, one of the hottest technology topics right now, hasn’t released an official mobile app or an API yet, some sketchy developers are taking advantage of the situation and getting hundreds of thousands of downloads on the app stores by including ‘’ChatGPT’’ in their app titles.

As reported by MacRumors, one of these apps is “ChatGPT Chat GPT AI With GPT-3“, which is currently the No.5 Productivity app on the App Store in the United States. While it is free to download, it offers a weekly subscription for $7.99 and an annual subscription for $49.99, although the original ChatGPT is completely free to use on the web. Meanwhile, the developer says in its app description that it is a ‘’third party unofficial app’’.

According to TechCrunch, the developer had a similar app on Google’s Play Store too, but it was removed later.

There are also several other Android apps such as ChatGPT, Chat GPT: Smart Open Al Chat and ChatGPT: Chat with AI Chatbot that all surpassed 100,000 downloads on the Play Store.

It’s not known yet whether Apple and Google will take any actions to prevent such apps.
