Google Play Store reportedly increases limit for concurrent app downloads

In a move that could enhance user convenience, the Google Play Store is currently experimenting with an increased limit for simultaneous app downloads. The new testing phase, observed by GSMArena, introduces the possibility of downloading or updating up to four app/games concurrently. This marks a notable upgrade from the previously established limit of three, which was implemented just a few days ago.

Previously, the Play Store had allowed users to download up to two apps at once starting in April, a limit that was later increased to three. This change applied to both new app installations and updates, providing users with a smoother experience when managing multiple app downloads. Now, with the ongoing test for a four-app limit, Google aims to further streamline the process, particularly beneficial for those setting up new devices or updating numerous apps at once.

The trial is currently limited to a small group of users, and its availability is restricted to specific devices, such as the India-based iQOO Z9s Pro running Google Play Store version 42.4.22-31[0][PR]663941805. This indicates that while some users may experience the new capability, it has not yet been universally rolled out. The outcome of this testing phase will determine whether Google decides to implement this higher limit for all users or maintain the existing three-app download cap. Stay tuned for further updates as Google continues to refine its approach to app management.
