Apple now has 1 billion paid subscribers across its services

Apple shared that it reached over 1 billion paid subscribers across their services during its third-quarter financial results on Thursday.

During the quarter, Apple’s services sales grew 8.2%, to $21.21 billion. The services include the App Store, Apple Pay, Apple Card and subscription-based services such as Apple TV+, Apple Music and iCloud.

According to CFO Luca Maestri, Active Apple devices number “reached an all-time high in every geographic segment.” The exact number remains unknown, although it was known to be at around 2 billion in February.

Despite performance being better than predictions, Apple’s revenue saw a 1% decrease in its June quarter. Services growing continuously, covers the loss of iPhone sales slowing down.

“We are happy to report that we had an all-time revenue record in Services during the June quarter, driven by over 1 billion paid subscriptions, and we saw continued strength in emerging markets thanks to robust sales of iPhone,” said Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook.

“From education to the environment, we are continuing to advance our values, while championing innovation that enriches the lives of our customers and leaves the world better than we found it.”

Earlier this year in January, Apple said that the company has paid app developers $320 billion since the App Store’s 2008 launch. At the time, they had around 900 million paid subscribers.
