More than half of Canadian gamers play titles on mobile devices – report

A recent report by time2play on Canadian gamers’ playing habits revealed that 52.3% of gamers in the country now play titles on their mobile devices, surpassing those that prefer any other platform.

17% of players included in the study said that they play mobile games for 1-7 hours on a weekly basis. 9% play for 30 to 60 minutes and 8% play for 7-14 hours every week.

The data shows that the percentage of players keeps going down as the amount of playtime rises. 4% of Canadian gamers reported playing mobile titles for 14 to 21 hours, 2% play for 21 to 28 hours, 1% play for 28 to 35 hours, and another 1% play for over 35 hours each week.

Most popular Android & iOS games in Canada

The report also revealed the most popular Android and iOS games among Canadian players.

In terms of downloads, Diablo Immortal is currently the number one iOS game in the country with over 275 thousand installs. It was followed by Bucket Crusher (210,635), Defend the farm – Merge Plants (183,451), Subway Surfers (175,048) and Fill the Fridge (173,845) respectively.

On the Android side, Pocket Monsters Rush took the lead with over 350 thousand downloads, followed by Apex Legends Mobile (303,869) at No.2. The third place belongs to Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds (213,449) which is currently nominated for Google Play Users’ Choice Game. The list continues with Bucket Crusher (211,970) at No.4 and Dream Wedding (164,176) at No.5.
