LoopMe, a technology company specializing in AI-driven brand advertising, has acquired Chartboost, a mobile advertising and monetization platform previously owned by Zynga. While the financial details remain undisclosed, the move underscores LoopMe’s mission to expand its footprint in the mobile app ecosystem, leveraging the capabilities and network that Chartboost brings to the table.
Originally acquired by Zynga for $250 million in 2021, Chartboost managed to establish itself as a prominent programmatic advertising platform, connecting marketers and developers through immersive ad experiences and transparent mediation solutions. The platform’s ability to handle over 90 billion ad auctions per month and engage with 700 million users globally made it an invaluable asset in the gaming and app monetization space. By joining forces with LoopMe, Chartboost is poised to amplify its capabilities. LoopMe’s AI technology and data-driven performance solutions will enable Chartboost’s publisher network to access new brand advertisers and innovative ad formats, further enhancing monetization outcomes.
For LoopMe, the acquisition aligns with its aggressive growth trajectory, bolstered by a 40% compound annual growth rate between FY2018 and FY2023. This deal not only expands LoopMe’s SDK network but also strengthens its AI-powered brand advertising platform. Stephen Upstone, CEO of LoopMe, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “We see mobile in-app and CTV as the future of brand advertising. Chartboost provides LoopMe with an exceptional team, advanced technology, and a broad publisher network that will significantly enhance our offering.”
Zynga, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive, also expressed confidence in the transaction. Zynga President Frank Gibeau emphasized the value Chartboost brought during its tenure and highlighted the promising partnership with LoopMe for future collaborations. Chartboost’s Head of Product, Jeff Carlson, echoed these sentiments, noting the alignment in mission and the shared commitment to empowering mobile developers.
