COVID19: Vacation Rental Apps Are Making A Comeback

Popular vacation rental apps such as Vrbo Vacation Rentals, Holidu, Hospitality, Hipcamp and HometoGo are making a comeback while apps like Couchsurfing are still not preferred by many as people don’t want to stay on other people’s couch due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, according to Apptopia. 


It is surely beyond doubt that the travel market has been affected negatively by the Coronavirus Pandemic as we’re strongly recommended to stay at our homes in order to slow down the spread of the virus. However, many countries have eased restrictions and travel companies have taken important measures to offer people with secure and healthy travel experiences. 

According to Apptopia, vacation rental apps now see a surge in demand and usage trends of these apps are going up again. 

For example; Vrbo Vacation Rentals by Homeaway.com has seen a 113% increase in its daily net new installs in the past two months and seen its highest growth in its lifetime. 

Holidu, another vacation rental app that is most popular in Europe countries, grew 191% and Hospitality by GladToHaveYou grew 86% in June 2020.
