Magnite, the largest independent sell-side advertising company, has announced the acquisition of streamr.ai, a platform that develops AI tools to simplify Connected TV (CTV) advertising for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Through the acquisition, Magnite plans to integrate streamr.ai’s technology across its ecosystem partners, including agencies, demand-side platforms (DSPs), publishers, and retail media networks. The goal is to make CTV advertising more accessible for SMBs, a segment traditionally constrained by high costs and operational complexity.

“CTV advertising for small businesses has long been limited by barriers such as cost and campaign setup challenges,” said Michael Barrett, CEO of Magnite. “By incorporating streamr.ai’s AI-driven tools, we can reduce those hurdles and open new revenue opportunities for CTV publishers.”

Streamr.ai provides technology that automates creative generation and campaign setup, helping advertisers launch video ads for CTV in minutes. The company was co-founded by Jonathan Moffie, former product lead at Wurl (acquired by AppLovin), and Frank Turano, previously an engineer at Shutterstock and Dotdash Meredith. Both will join Magnite as part of the acquisition.

“Magnite is the right environment to scale our vision,” said Moffie, streamr.ai’s CEO. “With Magnite’s reach and partnerships, we can accelerate adoption of CTV advertising among small businesses.”

The acquisition aligns with Magnite’s strategy to expand its AI capabilities while strengthening monetization options for publishers across CTV, video, display, and audio.
