Skillz launches $75 million Developer Accelerator Program for mobile games

Skillz has announced the launch of its Skillz Developer Accelerator, a program aimed at enhancing the mobile gaming industry by offering financial and operational support to game developers. With a commitment of up to $75 million over the next three years, the initiative is designed to help developers bring skill-based games to market, emphasizing monetization, innovation, and competition.

The accelerator program will focus on supporting up to 25 high-potential games, though Skillz remains open to more flexible opportunities based on market conditions. Developers who apply will benefit from working capital, operational expertise, and access to Skillz’s proprietary software tools, which include an SDK and data tools for better game performance. Additionally, the program will provide technical support, user acquisition strategies, and ongoing operational assistance to ensure the long-term success of the selected games.

Skillz is particularly interested in games that are simple to learn yet possess high competitive potential, strong retention metrics, and effective monetization or live-ops strategies. While having a working prototype or demo is preferred, the company is open to considering other viable opportunities. The program aims to help developers create games that can thrive within the fast-growing genre of real-money, skill-based gaming.

CEO Andrew Paradise stated, “Real-money, skill-based gaming continues to grow rapidly in terms of player lifetime value. This program is an investment in the future of mobile gaming, creating opportunities for developers to scale their projects and drive long-term revenue.”

Interested developers can apply by visiting Skillz’s official website, where they will be asked to submit a demo or pitch deck, along with a project plan for game development and post-launch strategies.

Through this accelerator, Skillz aims to foster the next generation of mobile and online gaming competition while providing the resources and support needed for developers to succeed in an increasingly competitive market.
