Playtika to acquire SuperPlay for up to $1.95 billion

Playtika has announced the acquisition of SuperPlay, a rapidly growing mobile game developer known for its hit titles Dice Dreams and Domino Dreams. The $700 million deal, with potential earnouts up to $1.25 billion based on future performance, is expected to be finalized by the fourth quarter of 2024.

SuperPlay, founded in 2019 by former Playtika employees Gilad Almog and Eyal Netzer, alongside industry veteran Elad Drory, has quickly emerged as a powerhouse in mobile gaming. With an average of 1.7 million daily active users across its games as of August 2024, the studio has shown its ability to launch and grow successful titles. SuperPlay will operate as a standalone studio under Playtika, with Gilad and Eyal continuing to lead the team. According to Playtika’s CEO Robert Antokol, the acquisition is key to Playtika’s strategy of expanding its mobile gaming portfolio and driving future growth.

The acquisition of SuperPlay adds substantial value to Playtika, particularly in the high-growth categories of Coin Looter and Board games, where SuperPlay has already established a strong presence. Dice Dreams and Domino Dreams, two of the company’s flagship games, have captivated millions of players worldwide, and with two additional games currently under development,

Playtika’s leadership has expressed confidence in the acquisition’s ability to drive future earnings and enhance shareholder value.

SuperPlay’s founders, Almog and Netzer, expressed excitement about the partnership, citing the potential for growth and collaboration. “With Playtika’s resources and global reach, we’ll be able to take our games to new heights and reach even more players around the world,” they said.
