YouTube overhauls Advanced Analytics to improve usability and performance tracking

YouTube is rolling out an update to its Advanced Analytics Mode within YouTube Studio, introducing a redesigned interface aimed at simplifying access to performance data for both new and experienced creators.

The update includes a restructured navigation system with a new left-hand sidebar, offering more granular control over how data is selected, filtered, and displayed. Creators can now more easily explore metrics such as geography, content type, and revenue source, and sort videos by attributes like title, duration, and publish date.

A revised metric picker allows users to select or deselect multiple data points and apply filters to generate more specific reports. This functionality is expected to make it easier to isolate trends and patterns in video performance without requiring deep analytical expertise.

One of the key additions includes the option to save frequently used reports — such as traffic source breakdowns — for quick future access. Creators will also gain enhanced visibility into a video’s early momentum, thanks to the inclusion of “first 24 hours” performance data and a new “Top Moments” report that identifies segments of content with the highest viewer engagement.

Comparison tools have also been expanded. The updated dashboard now enables creators to assess performance between videos over time or evaluate individual clips against others on key metrics like viewing duration and engagement. Additional features provide demographic breakdowns and other contextual insights to support content strategy development.

While the core metrics available remain unchanged, YouTube says the visual redesign is intended to make the analytics environment more accessible and actionable across a wider range of users. The updated interface is expected to roll out to users in the coming weeks.
