Google unveils first cohort for Google Play Apps Accelerator program

Google has announced the inaugural class of its Google Play Apps Accelerator, selecting a group of mobile app studios from multiple regions to participate in a structured development initiative aimed at scaling their products and operations.

The 12-week program brings together developers from the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, reflecting a geographically diverse cohort. Participating companies include startups and emerging studios working across sectors such as health, education, media, and productivity.

According to Google, the accelerator will focus on providing targeted support through a combination of virtual workshops, mentorship sessions, and direct engagement with internal teams and industry professionals. The curriculum is designed to address both technical and business challenges, including app performance optimization, user growth strategies, and operational scaling.

The initiative also includes one-on-one advisory sessions, allowing selected developers to receive tailored guidance on product development, monetisation, and leadership. In addition, participants will gain access to Google specialists and external experts, offering insight into platform tools and market trends.

The launch of the accelerator reflects Google’s broader effort to expand its support ecosystem for app developers on the Google Play platform. By focusing on early- and growth-stage companies, the program aims to strengthen the pipeline of apps capable of scaling globally.

The selected cohort includes companies such as Anytune, AstroVeda, BetterYou, and Wishfinity from the Americas; Kitakuji and Reehee Company from Asia-Pacific; and cabuu, EverPixel, and Xeropan International from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The program represents a structured attempt to connect developers with platform resources and expertise, as competition in the mobile app ecosystem continues to intensify and growth strategies become increasingly data-driven.
