Digital analytics platform Amplitude has announced the acquisition of Command AI, a startup specializing in AI-powered user assistance technology. The acquisition marks a significant step for Amplitude in its mission to help companies deliver more personalized and seamless digital experiences. With this integration, Amplitude aims to provide improved in-app engagement tools that streamline user interaction, increase satisfaction, and drive business growth.
Command AI, previously known as CommandBar, offers innovative solutions designed to improve the user experience through AI-driven insights and assistance. The startup’s products include an in-app search bar, a chatbot, AI Co-Browsing features, and a tool called Nudge Autopilot, which automatically triggers personalized suggestions to users. These capabilities complement Amplitude’s digital analytics platform, which provides companies with actionable insights into user behavior. By incorporating Command AI’s technologies, Amplitude aims to enable its customers to not only understand but also influence user behavior more effectively through personalized guidance, onboarding experiences, and interactive tours.
The acquisition brings Command AI’s 30-person team under Amplitude’s umbrella, with CEO James Evans and co-founder Vinay Ayyala taking leadership roles within Amplitude. Evans will become the director of product, while Ayyala will serve as the engineering director. Together, they will oversee the integration of Command AI’s features into Amplitude’s platform, including checklists, surveys, product tours, and smart-triggered announcements. These new capabilities are expected to launch early next year and will allow customers to create customized, user-centric experiences that align with business goals.
This acquisition is the third for Amplitude, which continues to expand its portfolio to meet the growing demand for more intuitive digital products. With over 2,700 paying customers, including Fortune 100 companies, Amplitude is solidifying its position as a leader in the digital analytics space.
“Everything Command AI does is more powerful when combined with analytics,” said James Evans, co-founder and CEO of Command AI. “While software has become more powerful and ubiquitous, most is still ‘one-size-fits-all’ and hard to use—and a lot of what purports to help users actually ends up just annoying them. I’m so excited that together Amplitude and Command AI can build the next generation of user assistance all designed for an AI-driven and product-led world. Our customers will be able to drive user growth, satisfaction, retention, and expansion all from a single platform.”
“Innovation is the biggest driver of growth for Amplitude,” said Spenser Skates, co-founder and CEO of Amplitude. “We’ve been incredibly impressed by what the Command AI team has done, particularly in the AI space. We’re excited to add their cutting-edge AI capabilities to our market-leading digital analytics platform.”
