Snapchat says its users generated close to 2 trillion Snaps in 2025, highlighting the scale of activity on the platform even as questions remain about its growth trajectory in key markets.
According to figures released by the company, this volume translates to approximately 38.5 billion Snaps per week, 5.5 billion per day, and around 3.8 million per minute. The data point reflects the frequency of interactions taking place across the app, where users primarily exchange photos and short videos as a form of communication.
The announcement focuses on usage intensity rather than user expansion. Over the past two years, Snapchat’s growth has remained largely flat in North America and Europe, its most established markets. More recent data indicates that the platform experienced an overall decline in users during the fourth quarter of 2025.
Some of that contraction has been linked to external factors. The app was restricted in Russia, while new regulations in Australia limiting social media access for users under 16 also contributed to a drop in user numbers. At the same time, Snapchat has continued to add users in other regions, particularly in markets such as India, which fall under its “Rest of World” category.
The company did not provide comparative figures from previous years, making it difficult to determine whether the 2 trillion total represents significant growth in activity or reflects stable engagement levels among an existing user base.
Despite the lack of historical benchmarks, the scale of content creation underscores the platform’s continued relevance as a messaging tool centered on visual communication. Snapchat’s core functionality—ephemeral sharing between individuals or small groups—continues to drive high volumes of daily interactions.
The update arrives as the company faces ongoing pressure to sustain momentum in mature markets while expanding its footprint elsewhere. The reported figures suggest that while overall user growth may be uneven, engagement among existing users remains high.
