The Pokémon Company’s mobile title Pokémon TCG Pocket has exceeded 100 million global downloads, according to estimates from Sensor Tower, marking a significant milestone for the franchise’s expansion in the mobile gaming market.
Launched globally in October 2024, the game has scaled rapidly, positioning itself as a leading title within the card battler category. Despite operating in a relatively niche segment, Pokémon TCG Pocket has outperformed established competitors such as Hearthstone and Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links in lifetime revenue, based on available estimates.
The game’s growth also extends to the broader Pokémon ecosystem. In 2025, it ranked among the top-performing intellectual property-based mobile titles by in-app purchase revenue, surpassing long-standing franchise entries including Pokémon GO. It now accounts for a substantial share of the franchise’s mobile revenue, second only to Pokémon GO.
Pokémon TCG Pocket’s performance highlights the continued commercial strength of the Pokémon brand in mobile gaming. The franchise ranked among the top revenue-generating IPs globally in 2025 and has maintained that position into 2026, with the newer title contributing significantly to its momentum.
The game adapts the traditional Pokémon Trading Card Game into a mobile format, focusing on streamlined mechanics and shorter play sessions. Core engagement features include digital card collection, pack-opening systems, and recurring in-game events, alongside social elements such as trading and collection sharing.
Its combination of established brand recognition and mobile-first design has enabled the title to scale quickly across global markets, reinforcing the viability of adapting legacy gaming formats for mobile audiences.
