Per AdColony’s Mobile Trends in QSR report, nearly two-thirds (65%) of mobile gamers said they order takeaway food from quick-service restaurants via an app or website more than they did a year ago.
The report found that mobile gamers of all ages are eating fast food at least once a week, with more than a third saying they do. About 1 in 5 are having fast food more than once a week, and only 2% say they never have it.
Women, who make up 48% of mobile gamers worldwide, have a similar dominance in takeaway food order. Among all gamers that eat fast food more than once a week, 54% of them are male while 46% identify as female.
By April 2021, many people were able to safely eat out in restaurants again. More than one-third of mobile gamers said they are eating out at least once a week. More than half (52%) of mobile gamers dine out at least once a month.
Another finding from the report is that among mobile gamers who eat fast food at least once a week, 27% use an app that tracks calories. They are also more likely to make purchases of streaming content, specifically buying media online to keep forever.
The report also found that mobile gamers who eat fast food at least once a week are likely to read reviews about a product from an ad, tell a friend or relative about it, as well as follow that brand on social media. Other forms of brand interaction are also more prevalent among this sub-group of consumers.
