Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025 kicks off Monday, June 9, with a keynote scheduled for 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET, streamed live from Apple Park in Cupertino. The annual developer-centric event will run through June 13, combining online programming with in-person sessions for select developers and students.
The event will be available to watch via Apple’s website, YouTube channel, and Apple TV app. Registered developers can attend online sessions throughout the week, while in-person attendees at Apple Park will have access to live presentations and hands-on labs.
This year’s conference is expected to focus heavily on software, with significant updates anticipated across Apple’s operating systems — iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS. Industry speculation suggests Apple may introduce a new, cohesive design language spanning its platforms, possibly inspired by the visual style of visionOS, the operating system developed for the Vision Pro headset.
One point of contention is the version number of iOS. While many anticipate the unveiling of iOS 19, some rumors suggest Apple may shift to a new naming convention, potentially labeling the release as iOS 26 to align with internal development cycles. Clarity is expected during the keynote presentation.
In addition to design updates, Apple is expected to showcase advancements in artificial intelligence. These include new features under the “Apple Intelligence” initiative and a potential collaboration with AI company Anthropic. Reports indicate Apple may integrate an AI-powered coding assistant within its Xcode development suite, signaling deeper AI integration into the software development experience.
Developers will also get a closer look at changes through the Platforms State of the Union, set to take place on the same day as the keynote at 1 p.m. PT. Apple promises a deeper dive into new developer tools and APIs, particularly those for macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS.
While WWDC remains a software-first event, the rumor mill continues to churn regarding potential hardware announcements later this year, including updated AirTags and a new iPhone model, possibly dubbed iPhone 17 Air. However, Apple is unlikely to introduce hardware during the WWDC keynote itself.
