Google Play introduces AI-powered tools to help developers boost growth and engagement

Google Play has unveiled a new suite of tools and programs designed to help developers streamline operations, expand globally, and improve user engagement.

Among the key updates is a built-in deep link emulator within Play Console, allowing developers to validate deep links instantly without using external devices or third-party tools. The new feature aims to simplify troubleshooting and ensure smoother in-app navigation.

To support global expansion, Google Play has also added Gemini-powered translation services that automatically localize app strings into multiple languages at no cost. Developers can preview and edit translations directly within Play Console, helping apps reach new markets faster.

New AI-driven analytics are also rolling out, including automated chart summaries that describe performance data on the Statistics page. The summaries are generated by Google’s Gemini model to surface key trends and anomalies, reducing the time developers spend analyzing data. A new “Grow Users” overview page consolidates audience metrics and provides actionable insights to help apps attract and retain users.

On the user engagement front, Google highlighted the new You tab on the Play Store, a personalized space where users can rediscover apps, games, and subscriptions. Developers integrating with the Engage SDK can feature in-app content, events, or offers directly within this tab, helping drive re-engagement and conversions.

Google Play also introduced improved catalog management tools for one-time products, allowing developers to sell, rent, or pre-order digital goods with greater flexibility. A new Play Points reporting dashboard offers visibility into the revenue and user acquisition impact of loyalty-based promotions, including those funded by Google.
