Fortnite-maker Epic Games announced a new tournament where users will compete to win anti-Apple prizes such as an in-game skin of the evil-looking apple featured in the Nineteen Eighty-Fortnite video. The FreeFortnite Cup will take place on August 23rd.
Epic Games last week introduced its own direct payment system which bypassed the %30 fee of the App Store and Google’s Play Store. Then, Apple removed the world-famous game Fortnite from the App Store and Epic Games revealed a series of responses including this video which quickly went viral on the internet.
And last Monday, Epic filed a motion for an injunction to block Apple’s removal of Fortnite.
Now, the video game company has published a blog post and announced a new tournament which will take place on August 3rd and where the winners will get anti-Apple prizes.
All of your friends. Fabulous prizes. And one bad apple. We’re droppin the #FreeFortnite Cup on August 23.

Players who compete in FreeFortnite Cup will have the opportunity to get a #FreeFortnite hat and the ‘’Tart Tycoon Outfit’’, in-game skin of the evil-looking apple which was featured in the Nineteen Eighty-Fortnite video that you can find above, and 1,200 pieces of gaming software including Alienware Gaming Laptop® and Samsung Galaxy Tab S7®.
‘’We’re giving away 1,200 pieces of gaming hardware (phones, consoles, and PC’s). Just because you can’t play on iOS doesn’t mean there aren’t other awesome places to play Fortnite. Be one of the top 1,200 apple-eaters globally to win one of these prizes!’’
In the blog post, Epic Games also reminded iOS users to make their voice heard by messaging @AppStore on social with #FreeFortnite.
