Digital Turbine acquires ONE Store International to accelerate expansion into U.S. and LatAm markets

Digital Turbine has announced the acquisition of ONE Store International, a subsidiary of South Korea’s prominent alternative app marketplace, ONE Store. The acquisition aims to extend Digital Turbine’s app growth solutions into critical markets across North America, the European Union, and Latin America. The partnership between the two companies, initiated earlier this year, now evolves into a broader collaboration to create a competitive alternative to major app stores, with a focus on supporting app developers and expanding user reach globally.

This acquisition builds on a partnership established in early 2024, when Digital Turbine first acquired an equity stake in ONE Store. The companies have since worked to bring Digital Turbine’s SingleTap technology—designed to enable effortless app installations for users and developers—to South Korea. With over 38 million users and nearly $1 billion in annual transactions, ONE Store has established itself as South Korea’s second-largest app marketplace and demonstrated the viability of app distribution beyond the dominant platforms. Now, Digital Turbine’s expanded partnership will support ONE Store’s entry into new global markets, providing a robust platform for developers aiming to reach consumers in regions that have traditionally been dominated by a select few app distribution channels.

The companies are also gearing up to introduce additional technological innovations, including new distribution capabilities for iOS devices. By leveraging Digital Turbine’s expansive device reach and the success of ONE Store’s marketplace model, the collaboration aims to create a more flexible and equitable app ecosystem for developers, publishers, and users alike.

“Expanding beyond the traditional app store duopoly is vital for creating an open and fair app ecosystem,” stated Bill Stone, CEO of Digital Turbine. “With this acquisition, we can scale our offerings and support the Digital Markets Act in the EU, while also bringing greater options to North America and Latin America.”

Peter Chun, CEO of ONE Store, expressed similar enthusiasm, emphasizing the company’s commitment to fostering a competitive and open marketplace that enhances developer opportunities and enriches user choice. Having already gained a strong foothold in Korea by partnering with the nation’s top mobile operators, ONE Store’s global expansion represents a strategic push to demonstrate that alternative app distribution channels can thrive on a larger scale.
