YouTube has rolled out a series of updates aimed at giving creators clearer performance insights and additional support when producing content. The changes include new analytics dividing paid and organic performance, AI-powered editing features, an expanded AI help assistant, and automatic video upscaling for older uploads.
The most notable update is the introduction of paid versus organic performance metrics in YouTube Analytics. Creators will now be able to view how views, watch time, likes, comments, shares, and engaged views differ between content discovered naturally and content boosted through paid promotion. YouTube says the change is intended to support more informed decision-making when balancing growth strategies across advertising and organic reach.
Alongside the analytics updates, YouTube has begun testing “Edit with AI,” a tool that automatically assembles a first draft from raw footage. The system selects key segments, adds music, and arranges clips into a basic storyline. The feature is positioned as a starting point rather than a final product, designed to reduce the time required to produce an initial cut.
YouTube is also expanding access to Ask Studio, its AI assistant inside YouTube Studio. The tool responds to data-related questions and troubleshooting needs, offering creators guidance on performance issues or policy questions without having to navigate support channels.
In addition, YouTube detailed progress on its Super Resolution project, which uses AI to upscale older videos originally uploaded at lower resolutions. Eligible videos within the 240p to 720p range may automatically display at up to 1080p on larger screens, including connected TVs. While intended to enhance clarity, some creators have expressed concern that the upscaling may alter the original look of videos. An opt-out setting is available for those who prefer to retain the original resolution.
Other updates include expanded AI voiceover options in multiple languages, gifts and jewels monetization tools rolling out to more regions, support for vertical layouts generated from horizontal livestreams, and image posting in Community posts for Android.
