Mobile-first gaming platform Party Icons raises $9 million in seed funding

Party Icons has secured $9 million in a seed funding round led by BITKRAFT Ventures, pushing its total funding to $20 million. The investment round saw participation from several influential investors, including IDG Capital, Gam3Girl Ventures, and Yield Guild Games, among others.

Funds from this investment round will significantly boost the growth of Party Icons’ varied gaming and social experiences. The capital will also enhance Web3 capabilities and infrastructure while supporting the company’s global expansion plans targeting key markets in 2025.

“Party Icons aims to blend the social aspects of party games with the competitive nature of extraction shooters, creating a next-gen platform that integrates Web3 technology effectively,” noted Jonathan Huang, Principal at BITKRAFT Ventures. Co-Founder Claire Lin emphasized that the funding will enable the team to push creative boundaries, allowing players to engage in a thriving, player-driven economy.

When players enter Party Icons, they find themselves on Miragio, a customizable interactive island that serves as the lobby for the Partyverse. This vibrant space hosts entertainment facilities, marketplaces, and portals to various game modes. Currently, players can enjoy three distinct experiences: Party Heist, Party Brawl, and Carnival Clash. Each mode offers a unique gameplay experience designed with the fast-paced habits of modern gamers in mind, ensuring sessions are concise, typically lasting under 12 minutes.

In Party Heist, teams of two compete in whimsical environments, employing extraction shooter mechanics that encourage strategic play. Meanwhile, Party Brawl transitions the experience into a 3v3 team deathmatch, fostering rapid and exhilarating action. For a more casual experience, Carnival Clash features over 25 party games, perfect for quick and enjoyable gameplay. “Our approach emphasizes the fun and social aspects of gaming,” explained Quinn Campbell, VP of Growth at Party Icons, highlighting that the essence of these modes lies in creating a party atmosphere rather than competing with more tactical shooters.

As Gabby Dizon, Founder of YGG, stated, “Platforms like Party Icons demonstrate how users can own part of an economy while enjoying gaming with friends.” This innovative structure transforms players from passive consumers into active operators, allowing them to shape the game’s success while enhancing the overall experience.
