WWDC 2026 is set to take place from June 8 to June 12, with a hybrid format that combines a global online event and a limited in-person gathering at Apple Park. The annual developer conference will center on software updates and a renewed emphasis on artificial intelligence across Apple’s ecosystem.
The event will open with a keynote on June 8, where Apple is expected to introduce the next iterations of its operating systems, including iOS 27, macOS 27, and related platform updates. As in previous years, the conference will include a series of virtual sessions, labs, and technical briefings aimed at developers building for Apple devices.
This year’s conference is expected to highlight advancements in AI capabilities, marking a shift from prior editions where artificial intelligence played a more limited role in announcements. Apple has been expanding its AI strategy through a mix of in-house development and external partnerships, including integration efforts involving Google’s Gemini models. Updates to Siri are anticipated, with a focus on improved contextual awareness and more advanced on-device functionality.
In addition to AI-related updates, Apple is likely to expand its developer tooling ecosystem. Previous initiatives, such as the Foundation Models framework and AI-assisted coding tools within Xcode, may receive further enhancements as the company continues to position its platforms for AI-driven development workflows.
While the majority of WWDC will remain accessible online at no cost, Apple will host a select group of developers and students at Apple Park on the opening day. Attendees will be chosen through an application process, with participation limited to ensure a smaller in-person experience.
WWDC 2026 will take place on the Apple Developer app, website, and YouTube channel; and on the Apple Developer bilibili channel in China.
The conference comes at a time when major technology companies are accelerating investment in AI infrastructure and software. Apple’s approach has focused more heavily on integrating AI into its existing hardware and software ecosystem, with an emphasis on privacy and on-device processing rather than large-scale cloud-based models.
Additional details about sessions and announcements are expected to be released closer to the event.
