Apps without verified trader status to be removed from EU App Store starting February 17

Apple has announced that starting February 17, 2025, apps available on the App Store in the European Union must comply with the European Union’s Digital Services Act (DSA) by verifying their trader status. Apps that fail to provide and verify this information, where applicable, will be removed from the App Store until compliance is achieved.

Under the DSA, businesses and developers are required to disclose their trader status to enhance transparency and accountability in digital marketplaces. To meet these regulatory standards, Apple has directed Account Holders and Admins in the Apple Developer Program to submit their trader status through App Store Connect for apps distributed in the EU.

This move underscores Apple’s commitment to adhering to evolving regulatory frameworks in the region while ensuring the continued availability of apps that comply with EU law. Developers are encouraged to update their trader status promptly to avoid disruptions to their app listings in EU markets.
