TikTok has announced a new feature named ‘’Jumps’’ which will allow content creators to add mini apps to their videos.

For example; if you’re making a recipe video, you’ll be able to link to the Whisk app so that TikTok users can access the full recipe with a single tap.

TikTok has been beta testing the feature for a few months and now making it available for an expanded group of creators.

For the tests of TikTok Jumps, the company collaborated with Whisk, Breathwrk, Wikipedia, Quizlet, StatMuse, and Tabelog.

BuzzFeed, Jumprope, IRL, and WATCHA will also launch their own TikTok Jumps over the next few weeks, the company announced

‘’From movie reviews to beauty tutorials, we’re excited to be expanding TikTok Jump to new verticals and use cases, and we look forward to seeing how our creators leverage these new mini-programs in their content.’’ said Sean Kim, Head of Product at TikTok US.

The new feature looks very similar to the Mini Apps feature Snapchat launched in July last year.
