Netflix is reportedly working on a ‘AAA PC game’

After acquiring several video game studios and launching tens of mobile games on its streaming platform, Netflix is now reportedly working on a ‘’AAA PC game’’.

As spotted by mobilegamer.biz, the company recently posted a job listing to find a ‘’creative and highly-skilled Game Director” to help them ”forge the game direction and creative vision on a brand-new AAA PC game.’’

While it’s not known yet what kind of a PC game Netflix wants to develop, the company is looking for candidates who can create games using Unreal Engine, and ‘’develop the world/characters/narrative that are worthy of a Netflix film/TV series’’. Those who have experience with FPS and/or third person shooter games will be preferred, according to the job posting.

‘’As Game Director, you will be the creative leader of one of Netflix’s first generation of internally developed original games. You will provide the vision and direction for the game from the concept phase, through production, launch, and live operations. The right candidate will bring industry-leading craft expertise and attention to detail to generate the vision for a game that is high quality, emotionally resonant, iconic, and full of heart.  Creating a great game that players want to come back to repeatedly is our primary goal – you will be able to create, ship and run a game without any competing design constraints due to monetization. ‘’

The company is also looking for a Lead Engineer to ‘’build an exciting new 3rd person action RPG,’’ another job opening shows.

The new Game Director and Lead Engineer will be working at Netflix’s new gaming studio in Los Angeles, California. It also opened its first internal studio in Helsinki, Finland in September.

The news comes weeks after the streaming giant acquired cozy games maker Spry Fox. To strengthen its game business, it also acquired Night School Studio, Next Games, Boss Fight Entertainment.

The company has launched 35 mobile titles so far, and said last month that it has 55 more games currently in development. You can check out our article to find out all the Netflix games you can play today.
