Amazon Games partners with Crystal Dynamics for the next Tomb Raider game

Amazon Games and Crystal Dynamics announced on Thursday that they’ve teamed up for the next title of the popular action-adventure video game series Tomb Raider.

Under the agreement, Crystal Dynamics will develop the new game while Amazon Games will provide its full support and publish it globally, the companies said in a statement.

They said the story of the series’ main character Lara Croft’s will continue in the upcoming title, which will have ‘’all the elements that have made Tomb Raider one of the most revered franchises in gaming’’.

The single-player narrative game is currently being built using Unreal Engine 5 and will be available on multiple platforms, according to the announcement post.

The news comes months after Amazon Games launched Lost Ark, an MMORPG title from South Korean developer Smilegate, on Steam earlier this year. The company also recently announced that it has partnered with Bandai Namco Online to release Blue Protocol in 2023.
