Paris games mobile game developer and publisher Voodoo said on Wednesday that it has acquired EMEA-based independent game studio Tarboosh Games. The companies didn’t share the financial details of the acquisition.

Founded in 2015 by Rani Hammad, Tarboosh Games has created over 40 games so far some of which were published by other publishers including Voodoo, Ketchapp and Cheetah Games.

Its popular titles Bike Hill, Police Runner and Pixel Drifters managed to reach the No.1 on the U.S. App Store. According to Voodoo’s statement, Bike Hill and the studio’s other hit Collect Em All have generated over 50 million downloads so far.

About the acquisition, Tarboosh Chief Executive Officer and Founder Hammad said: “Tarboosh Games’ transformation, leading up to this moment, is a testament of what great teams, no matter how small they are, can achieve, with passion, the right strategic vision and the courage to keep on trying where others have failed. Voodoo’s guidance and support enabled us to stay resilient and focused on bringing our best!”

Voodoo’s Casual Studios Manager Corentin Selz commented: “Working with Rani and his team for so many years on so many games was such an amazing journey with its highs and lows! This deal represents a new chapter in the lives of Tarboosh and Voodoo. With Tarboosh’s unique expertise and mindset, we’re excited to build more Hybrid-Casual games like Collect Em All and Mob Control, and to grow Voodoo’s portfolio in addition to our Hyper-Casual launches.

Voodoo also made an investment in Lisbon-based Volt Games in March and acquired Israeli Beach Bum in last October.

The French-gaming studio surpassed 6 billion downloads across all of its apps and games in February.
