TikTok yesterday introduced LIVE subscriptions, a monthly subscription on TikTok for people to show their appreciation for their favorite LIVE creators.
The company will initially make the new feature available to invite-only creators on May 26 and will then roll it out globally over the coming months.

The new LIVE Subscription is an extension of the company’s efforts to build diversified creator monetization opportunities that suit a range of creator needs, TikTok said.
At launch, the subscribers using the feature will have a bunch of perks including a badge displayed next to their name on their profile and upgraded over time, exclusive emotes custom-designed by the creators to use during LIVE sessions, and subscriber-only chat to let creators and their subscribers have exclusive access to one another.
Creator monetization options is not the only thing TikTok is currently working on. Reuters reported last week that TikTok is running tests so that users can play games on its video-sharing app in Vietnam, as part of its plans for a “major push into gaming”.
According to the people familiar with the matter, the company also plans to roll out gaming more widely in Southeast Asia. That move could come as early as the third quarter, said two of them.
