Spotify, digital music, podcasts and video streaming service, has launched its real-time lyrics feature in 26 markets across Latin America, Southern Asia and India.
Spotify, one of the largest online music listening platforms in the world, had started testing its real-time lyrics synced to music in some markets in November 2019.
The company has officially announced that the new feature is now available in 26 markets across Latin America, Southern Asia and India.
Users in Thailand, Vietnam, Mexico and Indonesia had similar lyrics support in the past from different providers. The feature is now available to users in 22 of these 26 markets for the first time.
For the new feature, Spotify agreed with the lyrics provider Musixmatch, which provided song lyrics for the tests performed last year.
These two companies had also worked together before but separated their ways in 2016 when Spotify started working with Genius for the ‘’Behind The Lyrics’’ feature.
Meanwhile, during the tests in November, Canadian users had access to real-time lyrics. But, it looks like the feature won’t be launched in the Canada market for now.
Here is the list of the all the markets where Spotify’s real-time lyrics feature is now available:
